Fall 2017 - Medical Assisting Program

Thank you for your interest in the ROP Medical Assisting Program in Santa Cruz, California. This is a 10-month course that prepares students for a career working alongside of health care providers in the medical office.

The course will begin in late August and classroom instruction will conclude in June. The class meets Monday through Thursday from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. In addition to classroom hours, each student must complete an externship in a physician's office of 200 hours.

The following requirements must be met in order to qualify for the program:

    Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Applicant is required to possess a high degree of professionalism and be able to exhibit the motivation and positive attitude necessary to succeed in the program p
  • Attendance at a mandatory orientation (Time/Date TBD)
  • Must sit for an assessment test with a result equal to a minimum reading level of 12th grade
  • Interview with instructor
  • Meet minimum health clearance
